Great Lakes Adventure Club
WELCOME to GREAT LAKES ADVENTURE CLUB
MEETINGS ARE HELD the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7PM at the Oshtemo branch of the KPL in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Come check us out! Guests are always welcome.

HUNTING SEASON! Be sure that you wear properly colored clothing that can be seen by hunters, when you are in the woods or surrounding areas. Check the area before entering to know if it is a hunting area.

KALAMAZOO RIVER:
The Department of Natural resources issued a reminder that the Kalamazoo River is closed to the public between the cities of Plainwell and Otsego. This closure will be in effect for the entire year. Contractors are removing contaminated river sediments and heavy equipment is in use on both sides of the river, so wading, canoeing, kayaking and tubing is too dangerous. It is not possible to access or pass the old Plainwell Dam and there is no form of portage available around it.

TIP FOR TICKS!
Apply a glob of liquid soap to a cotton ball, cover the tick with the soap-soaked cotton ball and let it stay on the repulsive insect for 15 to 20 seconds and the tick will come out on its own and be stuck to the cotton ball. This technique works and is not traumatic.
(except for the tick!)
